Lovestruck.

6:00pm

“Can you believe those girls?” Mohammad says when we get back to the house. He lets out a low whistle, falling onto the couch.

I plop down next to him. “What are you talking about?” I ask.

“Weren’t you paying attention at the pub?” Noah asks, sitting down in the chair opposite us.

“Apparently not.” Harry laughs, running his hand back through his hair. He pours himself a drink, taking a large gulp.

“You really need to start paying attention,” Noah says, shaking his head.

“For your information, I wasn’t not paying attention. I can’t focus on everything all at once,” I reply, crossing my arms over my chest.

Because what is his problem?!

He doesn’t need to always call me out.

At the pub.

Now.

It’s like he wants to constantly, over and over, push me past my limits.

He wants me to get out of my head.

He wants me to pay attention to him.

But I’m one person!

“Whoa. You two need to chill,” Mohammad says, snapping me out of my internal dialogue.

I look up at him and try to push out a breath. But I’m still annoyed. With Noah. With Mohammad telling me to chill.

“I am chill,” I mutter under my breath.

“You were in your head at the pub,” Noah says, obviously disagreeing.

I glare at him, suddenly getting the urge to strangle him. Or at least injure him.

Okay, maybe not injure him.

But at least wipe that knowing look off his face.

“Who fucking cares? You’re missing Mohammad’s story,” Harry interjects, downing his drink. He licks his lips, then refills the glass.

I furrow my brows, watching him pour what’s at least another double. When he’s finished, he walks to the couch and extends his hand out to me. The crystal glass is pinched between his fingers, and he nods for me to take it.

“Drink—now,” he instructs.

I frown at him, but I take the glass anyway. I take a small sip. Harry looks at me disapprovingly. I roll my eyes and take a bigger drink, emptying half the glass.

Harry’s lips curl up at the corner.

He takes the glass back from me, walks over to Noah, hands the glass to him, and says, “Finish the rest.”

Noah looks from Harry to me, then back to Harry, like he’s trying to figure out what to do. Finally, he takes the glass without question and downs the amber liquid.

“Good.” Harry adjusts his jacket, places the glass onto the coffee table, and then takes a seat.

“So, I’m going to pretend that we just didn’t witness … whatever that was,” Mohammad says, motioning between me and Noah, looking freaked out. “And I’m going to continue with my story.”

The drink that Harry gave me settles into my stomach, and it makes me relax. I rest my head back against the couch and give my full attention to Mohammad.

“About the girls?” I ask.

“They were all over us!” Mohammad replies, his eyes lighting up.

“I’m not sure about that …” Noah dares to disagree, but Harry shoots him a look that shuts him up.

“Wait, at the pub?” I ask, completely confused.

“Like I said, you were distracted,” Noah states.
